‘Writing Change, Writing Inclusion’ Deadline Extended!

With consideration of the busy time of year and due to a number of requests, we have extended the deadline for both the Mentoring Program and the Hot Desk Fellowship. Applications now close Friday 23 April COB. Please email submissions@centreforstories.com for any inquiries.
Funded by Australia Council and the Centre for Stories Founders Circle, Writing Change, Writing Inclusion is a writing program offering support for early, emerging and established writers from CaLD and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
Building off the success of the Centre for Stories’ previous programs Inclusion Matters and Indian Ocean Mentoring, the Writing Change, Writing Inclusion program will include:
- Hot Desk Fellowship,
- Mentoring Program,
- Access to Emerging Writer Courses,
- Access to Pro Courses,
- Website and social media profiling,
- Opportunities at festivals and events,
- Access to Centre for Stories events, networks, peer support and staff support,
- Opportunity to collaborate with relevant organisations and publishers,
- Opportunity to submit to the Centre for Stories’ next anthology.
Hot Desk Fellowship
Successful applicants will receive a dedicated desk at the Centre for Stories for a total of 10 days spread out over 8 to 12 consecutive weeks. Applicants will be profiled on the Centre for Stories’ website and social media, and will have the opportunity to attend Centre for Stories events and workshops, attend networking events, interact with other writers, and seek support from Centre for Stories staff. Successful applicants are provided a stipend.
Hot Desk Fellowship Guidelines

Successful applications will be contacted by email during the week starting 26 April 2021.
Hot Desks will be completed over 8-12 weeks between May and July 2021.

Mentoring Program
Successful applications will be paired with an established author or script writer for a period of 6-9 months to produce a body of work in poetry, prose, stage/script writing, or non-fiction. During this period, mentors and mentees will have 20 hours of face-to-face contact time. Applicants will be profiled on the Centre for Stories’ website and social media, and will have the opportunity to attend Centre for Stories events and workshops, attend networking events, interact with other writers, and seek support from Centre for Stories staff.
At least two mentorships will be for script writers for stage or screen. Mentors and mentees will be paired based on writing style, individual compatibility, and mentee preference.
