Story Lounge

Story Lounge is a pop-up literary hub in Perth’s CBD open to the public. It aims to contribute to the revitalisation of Perth’s CBD and engage new audiences in the arts sector, while providing employment and professional development opportunities for WA’s diverse artists and art professionals.

Story Lounge is a pop-up literary hub in Perth’s CBD open to the public. It is located at 720 Hay Street Mall between Kmart and Tea2, beside Jaws Sushi.

Inside you’ll find a First Nations library you can explore, a listening station where you can access our archive of oral stories, and a recording station where you can share your memories of Perth with us.

Programming at Story Lounge includes a regular First Nations Book Club, Write Night in the City, Slam Poetry, as well as writing workshops, and conversations about social justice issues. You can search all of our upcoming events at Story Lounge here.

Story Lounge is a direct response to existing barriers for WA’s diverse storytellers and writers, communities and audiences, which have been exacerbated by COVID-19. Story Lounge aims to contribute to the revitalisation of Perth’s CBD and engage new audiences in the arts sector, while providing employment and professional development opportunities for WA’s diverse artists and art professionals. It is a safe space for people to connect. We invite other organisations to get in touch if they are interested in collaborating with us or using the space; and we invite creatives to get in touch if they are interested in hot desking from the Lounge.
