New Project – Forbidden Love

Forbidden Love is a new oral storytelling project with a focus on true stories about relationships, in all their forms: unlikely friendships, connections to place and things, heartbreak, distance, passion, and family tradition. Forbidden Love explores the complexities surrounding ‘taboo’ relationships.
Participants will work with Sukhjit Kaur Khalsa to craft their story into a cohesive first-person narrative and develop oral storytelling skills and confidence.
This project is funded by Centre for Stories’ Founders Circle and Lotterywest.
There are THREE phases for this project:
Pitch Your Story
Email a 100-word pitch to Centre for Stories via submissions@centreforstories.com
Remember, this has to be a true, personal, story.
Attend Workshops
If your pitch is accepted, you must commit to attend all six workshops. It is essential that participants attend all workshops to get the most out of the experience.

- Saturday, 3 October, 11am-1pm
- Saturday, 10 October, 11am-1pm
- Saturday, 17 October, 11am-1pm
- Saturday, 24 October, 11am-1pm
- Saturday, 31 October, 11am-1pm
- Saturday, 7 November, 11am-1pm
Present and Record Story
Participants will have the choice of audio or video recording of stories.
Your story may be presented at an event at the Centre for Stories (dates TBC and negotiable).
Submissions close 25 September 2020, COB.
We are offering these workshops for free. So please, only submit a pitch if you intend to commit to the six workshops.
