Jess Gately
Collapse BioJess Gately is a freelance publishing professional with a particular penchant for speculative fiction. She works as a structural editor and a tutor at Curtin University, is the President of Editors WA (a branch of the Institute of Professional Editors), sits on the Board for the Small Press Network of Australia, and has worked for Perth Festival as the Literature and Ideas Program Coordinator, Night Parrot Press as the Publishing Coordinator, and Fremantle Press as the Events and Projects Officer. She has been a judge for the Aurealis Awards since 2019 and her master's thesis explored the process of editing a work of speculative fiction that utilises fictional languages.
