Join acclaimed author Annabel Smith for a workshop all about character. In this workshop, Annabel will share insightful tips and tools to help create more complex, relatable and interesting characters. You’ll also learn:
- The relationship between character & narrative voice
- The two most important elements of character
- How character drives plot
- The relationship between dialogue & character
- Managing characters’ back stories
This workshops is best suited to fiction writers, especially those writing or planning to write longer works (novellas & novels).

Collapse BioAnnabel Smith is the author of interactive digital novel/app The Ark, US bestseller Whisky Charlie Foxtrot, and A New Map of the Universe, which was shortlisted for the WA Premier’s Book Awards. She is an Australia Council Creative Australia Fellow, holds a PhD in Writing & teaches writing around Australia.
