AfroHeritage Book Club presents an evening that focuses on carving a space for yourself as a Black storyteller, featuring special guest author, Sisonke Msimang.
Sisonke will be in conversation with AfroHeritage co-founder, Vuma Phiri, about her two books, Always Another Country, and The Resurrection of Winnie Mandela. Building from her work, the conversation will also explore her perspective on the creativity of the African Diaspora, and how she, through her writing, has carved a space for herself as a Black storyteller. The conversation will be followed by a brief Q&A, so audience questions are welcomed and encouraged.
The night will also include two dazzling Boorloo (Perth) based poets: Abuk Lual and Nidal Saeed.
Please note, RSVP is essential. Numbers are limited, so we cannot offer walk-ins.
If you are living outside of Perth, you can join in via Zoom. Please contact afroheritagebc@gmail.com for further information.
