Join our exclusive Teacher Training Workshop led by the talented Rashida Murphy. This empowering workshop equips educators to confidently deliver our innovative Write Up Program in high schools.
Write Up is our creative writing program. Like its sister program, students are taught over 10-weeks about different forms of writing, such as poetry, prose, memoir, flash fiction, and more. We focus on learning from writers from Asia and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds. The program is built to support WA’s cross-curriculum priorities. The resources we use are incredibly diverse and we aim to reflect the students’ own experiences back at them, while increasing their empathy and curiosity about the world around them.
Who Should Attend? This workshop is tailor-made for teachers who aspire to lead a 10-week creative writing course in high schools. If you’re passionate about nurturing young minds and working with diverse student populations, this opportunity is perfect for you!
Learn how to engage with immigrant, refugee, and non-Anglo students effectively and make a difference by fostering a love for writing and self-expression.
If you are experiencing financial hardship, you can contact us to arrange entry at no charge on (08) 9328 1443 or at info@centreforstories.com.
The event will be held at Centre for Stories, Northbridge WA 6003. Centre for Stories is a wheelchair accessible venue.
The Perth train station is a 10-minute walk from Centre for Stories. The closest Wilson parking is 2 minutes away at Northbridge Central, 8/6 Errichetti Place.
We would like to make this event accessible to as many people as possible and encourage you to get in touch by phone or email to discuss your access needs. Please contact us on (08) 9328 1443 or at info@centreforstories.com.
