Centre for Stories
Hear debut authors paired with established authors talk candidly about their journeys to publication: their highs and lows, friends lost, and amount of wine and chocolate consumed during the writing process. Authors will confess to their innermost fears and share their vulnerabilities.
Join Alice Nelson and Brenda Walker for an illuminating discussion on what pushes them to write, from ideas to opinions, to personal experiences. Alice is the up and coming author, recognised for her sincere exploration of cultural and political tensions as well as trauma and displacement. Brenda is an established author well-loved for her fiction novels as well as non-fiction works. Her most recent short story examines the heartbreaking global issue of dislocation and refuge.
Thanks to Underground Writers, copies of Alice and Brenda’s novels will be available for purchase on the night! Underground Books is a not-for-profit bookstore that specialises in debut Australian titles. Funds from the store go towards supporting Underground Writers projects which provide information, education and encouragement to emerging Australian writers.
