Centre for Stories

We’re looking for storytellers

We’re looking for people to share their experiences of 2020 – from the fear and hope of responding to a pandemic, to the challenges we couldn’t have anticipated, and the surprising joy we found.

December 14, 2020

We’re looking for people to share their experiences of 2020.

From the fear and hope of responding to a pandemic, to the challenges we couldn’t have anticipated, and the surprising joy we found.

You will be trained in oral storytelling through a series of workshops where you will learn how to craft and deliver your story for an audience.

We’re particularly interested in hearing from:

From your personal reaction, to the response of your community, this is an opportunity for us to come together to reflect on the year.

We particularly encourage participation from people who identify as ATSI, CaLD, LGBTQIA+, and living with a disability.

Please contact Jay Anderson with any questions or expressions of interest by January 14, 2021 – email jay@centreforstories.com

Please note that storytellers must be available for four training sessions in late January/early February on weekday evenings or weekend mornings, and to present their story during our Backstories festival – which brings friends, families and neighbours together in backyard across the suburbs of Perth together for storytelling – in March. Stories will also be published on our website.
