Centre for Stories is seeking someone with an interest in communications and social media to apply for an internship located in our beautiful heritage building in Northbridge, WA.

Founded in 2015 by John and Caroline Wood, Centre for Stories is a vibrant, inclusive literary arts and cultural not-for-profit organisation. We use storytelling to grow skills and confidence, inspire understanding and promote community cohesion. Our work is about more than words. We are led by and empower storytellers and writers whose experiences and perspectives may have been historically disempowered and disenfranchised.

This social media internship is an unpaid volunteer opportunity to gain valuable experience in communications and marketing in the arts and social impact sector. The volunteer will have the chance to profile and meet with emerging and established authors, and attend our storytelling and author panel events as they arise for free.

Previous Centre for Stories interns have gone on to work for UWA Publishing, KSP Writers Centre, Emerging Writers Festival, Messages on Hold, RIC Publications, City of Perth Library, Fremantle Press, City of Karratha, and our very own Centre for Stories.

This social media internship runs for one day a week for 6 months (July–Nov), although we can be flexible with the end-date/time period.

Although it is not a requirement, we are seeking interns who have:

To apply: please send a resume and a short cover letter (max. 1 page) that address the above points in your email application to info@centreforstories.com.

Applications close Saturday 8 July 11:59PM AWST.

Those on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, of First Nations background, people of colour, and/or people living with a disability are strongly encouraged to apply.
