September 18, 2019

The Centre for Stories is thrilled to announce the successful applicants of the Inclusion Matters Hot Desk Fellowship (Round Two) for 2019.

Selected as part of the Inclusion Matters Project, the Centre for Stories Hot Desk Fellows are a local group of talented emerging writers. Funded by the Copyright Agency and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, the project focuses on supporting diversity and inclusion. It has two streams: a 12-month Mentoring Program and the Centre for Stories Hot Desk Fellowships. Both allow emerging writers to work on their craft.

The first round of Hot Deskers have already begun this journey, enjoying workshops with author and editor Robert Wood and spending time working on new projects at the Centre. The first of these workshops explored improving written expression through reading, voice and the conventions of genre. Subsequent workshops explore editing, as well as, criticism and opportunities for publication. At the completion of the program, the final projects will be collated onto the Centre for Stories’ website.

Due to the popularity of the project and the high standard of applications, thirteen, rather than ten, applicants have been accepted in total.
