Nominate our next Elder-in-residence

Do you know an older storyteller with significant experience as a creative practitioner to share?
We are now calling for nominations for our next elder-in-residence. This three-month residency provides a $3000 stipend for a storyteller over the age of 60 who has been practising their craft for at least ten years.
The residency is open to Western Australian performers, writers, poets, oral storytellers, and scriptwriters, and will engage older storytellers from a range of backgrounds, providing a space for them to write and share their stories and experience with our community of emerging creatives – forging connections across generations. Nominees must also be permanent residents, Australian citizens, or be living on a temporary protection visa. Learn about our inaugural elder-in-residence, Kaylene Poon.
To nominate our next elder-in-residence, fill out the form below or download the nomination form and email it to us at submissions@centreforstories.com. The nomination form can also be mailed to us or dropped off in person at Centre for Stories, 100 Aberdeen Street, Northbridge, Western Australia 6003.
Applications close at 5pm AWST on 1 March 2022.
