Centre for Stories is excited to share that we have partnered with My Place’s My Studio to run a writing and editorial mentoring program for emerging writers with a disability.

The program will select four emerging writers living in Western Australia to participate in a six-month program that will include:

• Workshops
• One-on-one mentoring
• Networking events

Writers will also be profiled on Centre for Stories’ social media and website.

The program is designed to support writers who are early in their journey to becoming writers. Outcomes include:

• Understanding the reading and writing process
• Develop an ongoing writing practice (produce, edit and reflect on work)
• Develop confidence to write independently
• Complete one piece of good quality writing

About My Studio

My Studio was developed by My Place to offer administration and producing support to disabled artists and collectives aiming to develop artistic skills, works and careers. My Studio also provides consultancy support to other agencies for improved artist equality and access within the mainstream arts ecology.
