Today kicks off the Australia-wide Giving Tuesday campaign! #GivingTuesdayNow is a global response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. Starting today, the Centre for Stories will be spending each Tuesday in May giving thanks and giving back in whatever way we can.

We’d like to kick off this #GivingTuesdayAUS by giving thanks to those who have kept us safe and continued to inspire us during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To our doctors and nurses, lab workers and cleaners;
To our shelf stackers and checkout operators;
To our pharmacists, truckies, and postal services;
To our teachers and carers (especially those in vulnerable communities);
and to our network of storytellers, writers, and artists that continue to breathe light into our communities through their words, song, and movement.

Thank you.

Despite the distance, despite the hardship, you have shown strength and kindness.
