Fremantle Press and Centre for Stories enter a new era of collaboration

The Centre for Stories and Fremantle Press are delighted to announce the signing of a memorandum of understanding which will see both organisations sharing resources for the benefit of Western Australian stories and storytellers.
The MOU means Centre for Stories Fellows will be able to participate in professional development opportunities through Fremantle Press. They will have a dedicated submissions portal and access to feedback from the editorial team. Fremantle Press will get the chance to co-publish the Centre for Stories’ books and access to event space at the Centre.
CEO of Fremantle Press Alex Allan said the Centre for Stories’ work has enriched and inspired us all. She said, ‘The Centre’s aim to create a vibrant and inclusive Western Australian arts sector has empowered over 500 people to tell their stories to date. We share their passion and can’t wait to work with them.’
CEO and Founder of the Centre for Stories, Caroline Wood, said this represented a new stage of cooperation. She said, ‘The MOU celebrates the strength of local writing, editing and publishing. I believe we can elevate the sector by working together in a shared spirit of fairness and respect.’
Founded in 2015 by John and Caroline Wood, the Centre for Stories focuses on cultural diversity, creating opportunities for storytellers and writers who are underrepresented in Western Australia’s creative sector and inspiring cohesion and understanding through rich and diverse programs.
Founded in 1976 Fremantle Press is a thriving for-purpose publishing house at the centre of a diverse and creative ecosystem that includes writers, illustrators, artists and publishing professionals. The organisation identifies and nurtures diverse and talented creatives, championing Western Australian stories of significant artistic merit to the widest possible audience, and highlighting the importance of storytelling to Australian culture.
