Please join us for a special conversation with emerging and mid-career First Nations creatives to celebrate the theme of ‘Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!’ for NAIDOC Week.
Featuring performer, director and writer Simone Detourbet, filmmaker Jason Hali-Aji, poet Daniel Hansen, visual artist Bradley Kickett, facilitated by Luisa Mitchell, the conversation will be about how art and culture intersect, the joys of creating, barriers First Nation creatives face in the industry, and the practical impacts of First Nations storytelling on our broader communities.

Jason Haji-Ali
Collapse BioJason Haji-Ali is a Yawuru man from Broome who has been living and working in Perth. Currently trying to make his way into the film industry, he has studied as a cinematographer and directed a short documentary. His solo work in film and video art explores identity, its ongoing development and the importance of maintaining family history through record keeping. He loves being able to bring stories to life and wishes to further push the boundaries and possibilities of Indigenous screen arts.
