Centre for Stories Welcomes Fabian Ross as New Chair of the Board

We are pleased to announce that Fabian Ross has been appointed as the new Chair of the Board at Centre for Stories.

Centre for Stories has appointed Fabian Ross as the new Chair of the Board, succeeding Jane den Hollander AO, who has served in the role since 2021. It is a strategic change of direction for the organisation and brings a complementary new energy.

Centre for Stories extends its heartfelt thanks to Jane den Hollander AO for her exceptional leadership and dedication during her tenure as Chair. Her contributions have been instrumental in shaping the Centre’s vision and ensuring its success. The organization is excited to continue this momentum with Fabian Ross, whose vision and leadership promise to further the Centre’s mission of amplifying diverse voices and fostering community through storytelling.

At present, Mr. Ross is CEO of Hockey WA and serves on a number of other boards. He brings over 20 years experience in the financial services sector, having held high-profile executive positions including CEO at WA Super, and senior roles across BT Financial Group, HBOS Australia and GESB.

Fabian Ross said, “After meeting with Caroline and hearing the great work Centre for Stories is involved in the community, there was a clear alignment with my own values which focusses on providing opportunities for those in our community to nurture and support great talent.” With an understanding of diversity and community, Mr. Ross lived experience and career success are a clear benefit to the Centre.

With Hockey WA since 2021, Mr. Ross has successfully combined his passion for the sport with his business acumen to drive the strategic direction of the organisation. His leadership has been recognized on the Business News Power 500 List of prominent business leaders in WA for three consecutive years (2022, 2023, and 2024). Beyond his executive roles, he is also dedicated to mentoring and consulting, focusing on helping small to medium-sized businesses achieve their strategic goals and nurturing the next generation of talent.
