Centre for Stories partners with City of Armadale for Humans of Armadale 2025

Centre for Stories is proud to continue its partnership with the City of Armadale for Humans of Armadale 2025.

October 23, 2024

Centre for Stories is pleased to announce our continued partnership with the City of Armadale in 2025, building on the success of our collaborative projects that celebrate the stories and creativity within the local community.

Last year, we were proud to work with the City of Armadale on the My Art, My Armadale project. Funded by the City of Armadale, this initiative brought together young people from Armadale Senior High School, Cecil Andrews College, Harrisdale Senior High School, and Kelmscott Senior High School. Under the guidance of local artist Julie Fearns-Pheasant, students explored themes of individuality, identity, family, and friendship, creating vibrant self-portraits through acrylic painting. To complement their art, Centre for Stories conducted conversational interviews with the students, giving them the opportunity to share their raw and authentic experiences of growing up in the City of Armadale. Their artwork and stories captured a unique snapshot of youth perspectives within the community, creating a meaningful dialogue around creativity and self-expression.

This year, we are thrilled to partner with the City of Armadale again for the Humans of Armadale 2025 project. This initiative invites residents and volunteers to share their stories of how volunteering and helping others have shaped their lives and contributed to the broader community. Through this project, we will once again have the privilege of working with local storytellers to highlight the diversity, generosity, and sense of connection that exists in Armadale.

How to Submit: To submit your story or nominate someone, please complete the submission form available via the City of Armadale website.
