The Spark
Dive into a world of creativity with The SPARK, Centre for Stories’ program for young people ready to explore their artistic passions. From writing and filmmaking to podcasting and visual arts, The SPARK offers the guidance, mentorship, and tools you need to ignite your creativity and shine in whatever path you choose.
Are you between 13 and 18 years old? Do you have a passion for all things creative, and would like to explore where your imagination can lead you to? If you said yes to both of your questions, The Spark is the program for you. We particularly encourage participants who identify as CaLD, First Nations, LGBTQIA+, living with disability and/or experiencing housing insecurity and financial distress.
From full-day school-holiday programs to online creative writing workshops on Discord, there are plenty of opportunities for you not only to be creative but also to showcase your art.
We are searching for young minds who are interested in:
- Filmmaking and scriptwriting
- Storytelling and song performances
- Creative writing
- Comic making
- Zine creation
- Podcasting
- Poetry
- And more!
The most exciting part is that whatever you end up choosing to explore, there will be an opportunity for you to showcase your art, being it the publication of a story, a performance in a theatre, or the production of a short film.
Workshops and lessons will be offered at the Centre for Stories, online and at community settings. Stay tuned for more information or contact us via the details below.
The Spark is generously funded by DLGSC and Centre for Stories Story Supporters.
