The Making of Me

Side Walks was a dynamic, one-day celebration of storytelling in its various forms across Northbridge and the Perth CBD held on 5 October 2019.

Funded by the City of Perth, Side Walks was a dynamic, one-day celebration of storytelling in its various forms across Northbridge and the Perth CBD held on 5 October 2019. Bringing together artists, writers, journalists and poets from across multiple disciplines, Side Walks presented six free unique events in venues both usual and unusual.

In The Making of Me, Ron Bradfield Jr drew upon cultural notions important to Bardi peoples to explore how a collision of cultures shaped his journey into manhood. In conversation with Sisonke Msimang, Ron discussed how Aboriginal people across Australia have had to adapt to Australian culture. This event was held at the Centre for Stories.
