Dr. Robert Wood (BA, B.Econ, Hons, AM, PhD) is a Malayali poet interested in community, ideas and language, and the author of four books. He was an Endeavour Research Fellow at Columbia University from 2017 to 2018, and a Benjamin Franklin Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania from 2006 to 2008 where he gained a Masters. Since 2011, he has worked as a consultant with Indigenous owned cultural organisation Tarruru. Between 2013 and 2016, he edited for the journals Cordite, Peril, and Overland, and was on the Faculty of The School of Life in Melbourne. Robert has been the Chair of PEN Perth since 2018 and is a Westpac Social Change Fellow in 2021. Robert is responsible for developing partnerships with artists and social change organisations; planning a program of activities, including writing, publishing and mentoring; quality control of all creative outputs; and implementing best-practice models that improve wellbeing.
