Dr Jie Chen is an Associate Professor in the School of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Western Australia, specialising in the politics and international relations of Greater China. He currently leads an international research project funded by The Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange to investigate Taiwan’s potential role in China’s cause of democratisation. His most recent book is The Overseas Chinese Democracy Movement: Assessing China’s only Open Political Opposition (2019).
