Walking and Writing Queer Spaces

Walk the CBD and participate in a discussion and workshop on writing queer spaces.

Jan 28, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Story Lounge

Where are our queer spaces in Boorloo/Perth? How do we create them? What is the historical, political, social, or cultural context of place as it relates to queer identity, expression, and experience?

Join Ryan Steed and Jay Anderson for a short walk in the CBD followed by a discussion and activities on writing queer spaces at Story Lounge.

Connect with community, explore space, what it means to you, to others, and how we might write about it to uncover our hidden histories or reflect on our personal experiences.

Tickets are $5.00.

Companion card holders are welcome, please contact us on (08) 9328 1443 or at info@centreforstories.com to organise this.

If you are experiencing financial hardship, you can contact us to arrange entry at no charge on (08) 9328 1443 or at info@centreforstories.com.

Please note that the Story Lounge does not have a bathroom but visitors can use the public toilets across Hay Street Mall at the Enex Building.

Story Lounge would not be possible without the Humich Group who donated the Hay Street Mall shopfront to activate the CBD for local writers and artists, as well as financial support from the City of Perth and Australia Council for the Arts.
