How exactly does one become an editor? Linda Martin and Camha Pham share their respective journeys as editors and discuss the different pathways that can be undertaken, the levels and types of editing, the qualities one requires to persevere and work in the industry, the myths surrounding the profession, as well as tips and tricks for any aspiring editor. This two-hour discussion is targeted towards students and recent graduates of writing and editing courses and those who are looking to embark on their own journey to becoming an editor.

Linda Martin
Collapse BioLinda Martin lectures in creative writing at the School of Indigenous Studies at the University of Western Australia. She has previously lectured in writing, editing and publishing at Curtin University and has been a guest lecturer in fiction editing at Murdoch University. She has over 15 years’ experience in book publishing and editing and is currently doing a PhD in writing at Curtin University. Linda was introduced to flash fiction by Laura Keenan in a writers group several years ago. She has been a fan ever since.
