Centre for Stories

Join us for an animation screening and storytelling night with Merle Narkle Goodwin, Audrey Narkle Nettle and Tracey Kickett.

Produced in Community Arts Network’s Rekindling Stories on Country program, the short animation features clay figurines made by Noongar community members living in York on Ballardong country, bringing to life anecdotes of the York Reserve, family, shearing days, the river, and town.

Following the animation, Merle, Audrey and Tracey will speak about the history of the York Reserve and town, the Noongar farm workers, and their personal experiences growing up in what is known as WA’s first inland town – built between the two mountains (Wongboral and Walwalling).

Light refreshments provided.
