Regional Sounds
Backstories is a multi-sited storytelling festival located across Western Australia. Spend a lazy afternoon with friends and family and listen to two trained storytellers share their experiences. Pack a picnic, bring something to sit on, and put your mingling hat on – it’s going to be a rippa arvo!
Featuring storytellers Brooke Bennett and Polo Or, with music by Mel Carter, and facilitated by Rosie Sitorus.
Organised in partnership with Euphorium.
COVID SAFETY
All Backstories attendees aged 16 years and over are required to show proof of COVID-19 double vaccination, or their medical exemption, along with identification, upon entry. More information about these requirements can be found here.
We will be tracking the latest health advice from the WA government and we will notify attendees of additional covid safety requirements as they are announced.
TICKETING
For those who can afford it, pay-what-you-feel ticketing is available starting at $10.00. Ticket sales mean that we can pay the storytellers, musicians, and other artists who make our Backstories festival possible.
Companion card holders are welcome, please contact us on (08) 9328 1443 or at [email protected] to organise this.
If you are experiencing financial hardship, you can contact us to arrange entry at no charge on (08) 9328 1443 or at [email protected]
THANK YOU
Backstories would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, City of Bayswater, City of Stirling, City of Fremantle, Town of Victoria Park, and Centre for Stories Founders Circle.
