Stories From Home (Online)

Sunday May 31, 2020
11:00 - 12:00

Due to COVID-19, this event will take place online via Zoom.

Zoom can be downloaded for free here. Purchase your ticket below, and we will email you a link to the Zoom meeting. We do this manually, so please be patient with us! Because these emails contain a link, they often end up in people’s junk folders. If you haven’t received the link (and you’ve checked your junk folder), please email us at info@centreforstories.com.

Stories from Home is an intimate live storytelling event shared online through Zoom. Featuring different storytellers, it invites audiences to listen and learn about a diverse range of people. Told from first person perspectives, you will hear how people make sense of the world, what matters to them, and why stories are as important now as they ever were. You can support the Centre as much as you wish with ‘Choose What You Pay’ tickets. Starting at $5, this is a way to support community artists during this time.

This week’s storyteller is Tammy Bux.

“When we are young, we try so hard to conform, to blend in. As we get older we discover it’s okay to drop the mask and be our authentic, messy and glorious selves.”

If you’ve ever tried to keep your feelings, thoughts or innermost fears hidden, you’re not alone. Tammy will share her signature story of self-discovery from childhood tragedy to overcoming adversity and transformation, reminding us that by facing our greatest fears, we often find our true voice. She hopes that by sharing her story, you’re encouraged to do the same.
