Backstories – Kununurra (SOLD OUT)

Pack a picnic, hear from two trained storytellers, and mingle with local members of your community!

Mar 19, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Kununurra Community and School Library

Please note that due to level 2 public health measures and current event capacity limits for gatherings at private residences all Backstories festival events have been postponed. The event pages will be updated to reflect rescheduled dates once they have been organised. Current ticket holders will be contacted shortly with three options — to keep their ticket for the rescheduled date, to be refunded for the cost of their ticket, or to donate their ticket to the Centre for Stories. While this is disappointing, our priority is the safety of our storytellers, audiences and staff. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused, but we can’t wait to see you later in the year when we can bring stories home safely!

Backstories is a multi-sited storytelling festival located in the suburbs of Western Australia. Spend a lazy afternoon with friends and family in the comfort of your neighbour’s backyard to listen to two trained storytellers. Pack a picnic, bring something to sit on, and put your mingling hat on – it’s going to be a rippa arvo!

Storytellers and musicians to be announced soon!

Location to be announced soon!

Organised in partnership with Kimberley Jiyigas.

COVID SAFETY

All Backstories attendees aged 16 years and over are required to show proof of COVID-19 double vaccination, or their medical exemption, along with identification, upon entry. More information about these requirements can be found here.

We will be tracking the latest health advice from the WA government and we will notify attendees of additional covid safety requirements as they are announced.

ACCESSIBILITY

We would like to make Backstories accessible to as many people as possible and encourage you to get in touch by phone or email to discuss your access needs. If you require an AUSLAN interpreter, please contact us by Friday 18 February on (08) 9328 1443 or at info@centreforstories.com.

TICKETING

For those who can afford it, pay-what-you-feel ticketing is available starting at $10.00. Ticket sales mean that we can pay the storytellers, musicians, and other artists who make our Backstories festival possible.

Companion card holders are welcome, please contact us on (08) 9328 1443 or at info@centreforstories.com to organise this.

If you are experiencing financial hardship, you can contact us to arrange entry at no charge on (08) 9328 1443 or at info@centreforstories.com.
