Tarruru invites you to learn the art of basket weaving with Fibre Artist, Siân Boucherd. Over five weeks, you’ll learn to explore your creativity in a restorative environment.

Sian explores the relationship between arts, the environment, and community through weaving workshops. She also maintains her own studio practice and has had previous curatorial endeavours involving Land Art projects in ancient woodlands of Kent, UK.

Over millennia the act of weaving has brought people together in a communal activity that helps us to experience wellbeing and connectedness. Sian will teach you to build and shape your own unique vessels to take home, and we invite you to exhibit these at the end of the workshops. This series of workshops is perfect for beginners, or those who want to join a weaving community to practice their craft.

You do not need to bring anything as all tools and materials are supplied. We will supply ethically sourced raffia and other natural fibres such as cotton and wool, allowing you to personalise your vessel. Coffee and morning tea also provided.
