Centre for Stories Social Impact Report
August 25, 2021
We recently received a social impact report from Huber Social who researched the wellbeing of storytellers participating in Backstories, our annual multi-sited storytelling festival, this year.
On average, storytellers participating in Backstories 2021 experienced a +9% positive shift in their overall wellbeing because our work builds wellness, resilience and life skills.
For the storytellers, the report found:
- +14% connection to community;
- +12% connection to culture;
- +10% connection to family;
- +12% problem solving skills;
- +12% communication skills.
The report also examines needs that may inform future Backstories or other Centre for Stories’ programs, which is important to us as we strive to do better, always.
Thanks to Huber Social and all of the storytellers who participated in the study.
