Centre for Stories is seeking a part-time bookkeeping and administrative assistant

Centre for Stories is looking for someone with passion, enthusiasm and a willingness to be a positive contributing team member. This a part- time position and involves working closely with the Centre’s Finance Officer, internal and external stakeholders.
About the Role
The Bookkeeping and Administrative Assistant role involves working closely with the Centre’s Finance Officer and other internal and external stakeholders to support the Centre’s bookkeeping and administrative functions. The position is for 2 days per week on a 1-year contract, with strong prospects for renewal.
- Salary: $65,000 per annum (pro-rated to two days per week) + superannuation
- Leave: Four weeks annual leave (pro-rated), plus additional leave over the Christmas/New Year period
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping
- Maintain employee and external contractor contribution records
- Process payments via one-touch/clearing house systems by the due date
- Support the Finance Officer with month-end, quarterly, and year-end reports
- Assist during auditing processes
Administration
- Monitor and respond to telephone messages and the Centre’s info inbox
- Manage supplies and organise purchases as needed
- Perform general administrative duties as directed
Skills and Selection Criteria
Essential
- Certificate IV in Bookkeeping
- Proficiency in Xero
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
Desirable
- Strong administrative and time management skills with keen attention to detail
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with databases and CRM systems
