Hossein Bouazar

A man speaking and using his hands

Hossein Bouazar is a seasoned storyteller. He has told stories for us at Food for Thought and the Denmark Festival of Voice, and travels to schools in Western Australia to tell his story to school children. He is an Ahwazi refugee who arrived in Australia in late 2012 after fleeing Iran with his father. He completed his Diploma of ICT Networking whilst learning English. Hossein likes to use his story of migrating to Australia to explain the importance of freedom and democracy. At Bread & Butter, he will share with us the importance of language and culture in relation to identity, and his long journey to safety.
